Kerafast volunteer day at Cradles to Crayons

A team of Kerafast employees spent one morning last week volunteering at a local Boston-based charity, Cradles to Crayons. The organization helps children 12 years and younger living in homeless or low-income situations by providing them with essentials such as clothing and school supplies.

On Wednesday, we drove to Cradles to Crayons from our offices in Boston’s Seaport District and spent several hours helping organize newly donated items. First, we matched hats and gloves into outerwear care packages for boys and girls of different age groups. Then, we sorted through bags of new donations, inspecting incoming items for quality and separating the clothing by gender and age. It’s the first stop in the Cradles to Crayons warehouse – the items we sorted will eventually be grouped into individualized packages that are created to order for children living in need.

We had a great time and look forward to volunteering as a team again soon! Giving back to both the local and global scientific communities is valued here at Kerafast; as part of the our company mission, we give back to science by returning a generous portion of every sale to the scientists and institutions that contribute Reagents for the Greater Good.

Cradles to Crayons is always interested in donations of all types and volunteers to help out. If you are in the Boston, Philadelphia or Chicago areas, we encourage you to get involved. Learn more here, and check out some pictures from our recent volunteer day:
