Embracing the Season of Giving at Kerafast
It is tradition at Kerafast during the holidays for the team to get together and give back to the Boston community. This year we have decided to collect donations for Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization that strives to provide every child with the essentials they need to feel safe, warm and valued.
According to the organization, 250,560 children ages newborn to 12 in Massachusetts are living in low-income homes or are homeless. Cradles to Crayons strives to make a difference by collecting donations of new and gently used children’s items such as clothing, shoes, books, coats, games, crafts, school supplies and baby supplies for these kids. Volunteers then work to create KidPacks full of hand-selected items to meet each boy or girl’s needs and wants and then distribute these packs throughout the community.
Over the past month, we have been collecting items to bring to Cradles to Crayons in the Kerafast office. At this time, Cradles to Crayons has
expressed a need for kid’s sneakers, boys clothes, winter accessories, sweaters, sweatshirts, and books, so we have tried to cater our donations towards their needs.
On December 10th, as a team we delivered our items to Cradles to Crayons located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston. Giving back is a crucial part of our mission, as we give back to scientists and institutions every day by returning a generous portion of every sale to our providers. The holiday season is the perfect time to remind ourselves of this mission.
Cradles to Crayons Boston is always looking for people to take action through donations and volunteering opportunities. We encourage everyone to take part in the giving season and lend a helping hand. Tis the season and happy holidays to all!
