Giving Back During the Holidays
This holiday season, the Kerafast team decided to give back to our local community by adopting an apartment at the Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor, where families of critically ill children can stay while their child receives care at a Boston-area treatment center. The organization provides lodging and support to these families, striving to make their lives easier while dealing with the stress of a sick child.
The Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor includes 12 apartments – 11 for families to stay, and one community space for the families to gather together. Each unit is meant to be a home-away-from-home, complete with all the bedding, kitchenware and other necessities the family will need, as well as a supply of games, movies and toys. The Kerafast team adopted one of the family apartments, pledging to donate a variety of materials to replenish necessities and spruce up the living space.
Each team member is contributing a different item, and we’ll be delivering the package to the Ronald McDonald House this week, just before the holiday season.
Giving back is a valued part of our culture here at Kerafast; we were founded with the mission to give back to science by returning a generous portion of every sale to our providing scientists and institutions. We enjoy volunteering together to support our local community in addition to the global scientific community.
